Karma Karma Radio is an international radio show by South African DJ and producer Shimza, dedicated to contemporary Afro House, Afro-Tech and current electronic music.

Each episode is a continuous DJ set running for around an hour, featuring new club releases, Shimza’s own tracks, fresh remixes, music from the KUNYE label and material that is only beginning to appear in DJs’ sets. Afro House remains the foundation of the programme, but it sits naturally alongside deep house, melodic house, tech house and 3-step.

From South Africa to Ibiza

The sound of Karma Karma Radio reflects Shimza’s own musical style. African percussion is combined with powerful club rhythms, deep synthesizers, vocal passages and harder-edged Afro-Tech. It is music that feels equally at home in an intimate club and on a major festival stage.

Shimza does more than simply play popular tracks. He builds each episode as a complete DJ set, gradually shifting the mood, increasing the intensity and blending established releases with music from emerging producers from South Africa and other countries. The show frequently features exclusive versions, unreleased tracks and material that Shimza himself is testing in his live sets.

More than a radio show

Karma Karma Radio continues the idea behind Shimza’s projects KUNYE, One Man Show and Shimza & Co — introducing an international audience to the contemporary African electronic scene while connecting it with global house culture.

Selected episodes also feature guest mixes from other DJs and producers, allowing the show to function not only as Shimza’s own programme but also as a platform for new music.

Karma Karma Radio is broadcast on radio stations in different countries and is carried by YFM in South Africa. A separate Karma Karma Radio with Shimza series is also available on Apple Music.
