Сплин
Viktor Tsoi (June 21, 1962 — August 15, 1990) — was a Soviet rock musician, singer, songwriter and frontman of «Kino», and one of the most recognizable figures of the Leningrad rock scene of the 1980s. With Kino, he recorded the albums «45», «Начальник Камчатки», «Ночь», «Группа крови», «Звезда по имени Солнце» and other releases. Songs such as «Группа крови», «Перемен!», «Звезда по имени Солнце», «Пачка сигарет», «Кукушка», «Спокойная ночь» and «Последний герой» became an important part of Russian-language rock culture.
Tsoi’s lyrics were distinguished by simple, concise language in which themes of freedom, choice, loneliness, growing up and inner resistance were combined with images of everyday life. In addition to music, Tsoi also appeared in films; his best-known role was Moro in the 1988 film «Игла». The musician died in a car accident in Latvia on August 15, 1990, but Kino’s songs continue to be reissued, performed in concert and remain part of contemporary music culture.
